Scott Nolan first visited Aotearoa New Zealand in 2011. While it was the beautiful landscape and vast natural beauty that first attracted Scott to these shores, he quickly discovered the rapidly growing startup ecosystem, and the unique opportunities it presents. A partner at Founders Fund, he has made a number of trips since then to deepen his relationships with entrepreneurs, investors and changemakers in New Zealand, and recently presented as an inaugural Fellow at Edmund Hillary Fellowship’s New Frontiers summit.

Check out Scott’s presentation:

Scott has been incredibly generous with his time and connections in his previous dealings with New Zealand. He invested through Founders Fund in seed financing for Kiwi volumetric VR content company 8i, and was pivotal in helping to secure their US$13.5m Series A round in 2015. Scott is also a personal investor in Auckland-based education technology company Kami, and presented at a previous New Frontiers summit, providing some useful tips for Kiwi entrepreneurs who are looking to raise capital in Silicon Valley. Read more about his story here.

As an investor, Scott is planning a tour of the major coworking spaces, incubators, accelerators and research hubs across New Zealand in 2018. He would love to hear from aligned organisations, groups or individuals who are up for hosting him, setting up speaking engagements or meet-ups, or setting up tours of local community innovation spaces. He is open to providing his advice and perspective to local entrepreneurs and innovators through conducting office hours sessions, Q&A’s, or whatever formats make sense.

If you’d like to connect with Scott and host him in your city, you can reach out to him on Twitter.
